The Bistro of the Bassin, a charming restaurant in Cap Ferret
The discovery of our beautiful region inevitably passes through the flavors of the palate and the tasting of the wealth of the Gascony area. On the table of "Le Bistrot du Bassin", one is far away from the waiter, cramped in his black suit. Conviviality, simplicity and quality are our priorities. The chef, Franck Le Bourlay, a member of "Master Restaurateurs ", is proud to reveal the wonders of the ocean with fresh, seasonal market produce. His choices are always guided by the quality of the produce, fresh little treasures cooked immediately.
Ocean cruise à la carte: Saint-Jacques in season, roast sea bass, sea bream on its bed of tomatoes, red mullet and tuna just cooked without ever losing the taste of the surf. Also featured are regional products: on the port side, homemade Landes foie gras and the Bordeaux lamprey, Gironde caviar, on the starboard side. And because the chef pays particular attention to the poetry of the kitchen garden, vegetables are served crunchy with a drizzle of olive oil or cream. All these dishes are delicately accompanied by the best wines of the region skillfully selected, followed by a help-yourself buffet of desserts that your taste buds will not forget easily.
And of course, the unmissable oysters of the Arcachon bay which invite you on their bed of ice, with some friendly neighbours, lobster and langoustines.
It is definitely the party, a holiday taste that will leave you with memories of tasty sensations more intense than snapshots of the world ...
